WHAT A WEEKEND!!!

Mother AND Daughter both WIN BLUE!!!!

Kesley had an incredible performance in Open Derby – one of her best yet to date!  She ran hard and hunted hard.  She had multiple finds with beautiful style!!!  So proud of you Kelsey girl!  Now, time to grow up and learn to be a broke gun dog.

While Kelsey had her wonderful run, Maddy would not be outdone!!!  She ran her heart out in the 14 dog Open Gun Dog Stake!  She ran the edges hard and had 5 beautiful finds!!!  With tough competition, Maddy had her day – she won her major!!!

I cannot express the feeling of pride I have to announce that my Maddy has finished her Field Championship!!!

Honorable Mention:  Maddy placed 2nd in OLGD! 

What an incredible couple of weeks!!!  As I just mentioned below, all of the training, traveling, bumps and successes have all paid off!!!  At 9 1/2 years young, Maddy and I accomplished our goals in the field!!! 

Not worried about Top Ten points, Maddy is currently ranked in the Top 20 in the Open Top Ten list of vizslas in the country – all of those OLGD wins and placements certainly added up!!

With Maddy taking a well deserved afternoon snooze, her AKC certificate arrived in the mail!!! 

With the ever present Maddy wiggle butt wag, her tail can be seen photo bombing the picture over the certificate.

Weimaraner Club of Greater Louisville

With our AFC complete, we now only need an Open Major (4 total points) to finish Maddy’s Field Championship. 

Starting from her break away, to her bird work (5 finds, 3 were limb), to her ground game and strong finish… Maddy was rewarded with WINNING BLUE blue in OLGD.  One dog shy of a major, she continues to amaze me. It was a tough and challenging course in Kentucky!!!

Northern Virginia Brittany Field Trial

The day has arrived – it hasn’t sunk in yet!!!
Maddy needed 3 points to earn her Amateur Field Championship.  As Maddy would have it, she earned all three the same day by WINNING the AGD MAJOR stake.

At 9 years and 4 months, Maddy ran with the youngsters and did her thing!  So incredibly PROUD of you Mads!!!!

Honorable mention:  Maddy also placed 2nd in the OLGD stake (was a major, as well)!

Rachel and Dash (Maddy-Erik) have been on a journey for about a year now to earn her Master ATChC.

In order to acheive this amazing title, they needed 3 Master Standards, 4 Master Snooker, 4 Master Jumpers and 4 Master Gamblers….She already has Bronze Jumpers Title (10 Jumpers) and I havae a feeling they will be going for gold.

So proud of these two – they are an INCREDIBLE team.  CONGRATULATIONS Rachel and Dash-a-roooooo!!!!!

Mason Dixon GSP Club Field Trial

Kelsey kicked off the season with a 2nd place in Open Derby.  She had a nice run matched with 2 stylish finds.  Scenting conditions were not great and she was in a stake with some very tough competition. Very proud of you Kelsey !

Conestoga Vizsla Club Field Trial

While we didn’t get a blue ribbon today, Maddy still had a wonderful weekend!  She placed 2nd in OLGD (retrieving) and received an Award of Merit in a very competitive 28 dog AGD stake.  Fresh off the summer, not a bad way to start the season!

CONGRATULATIONS to pretty AND talented
Dash (Maddy-Erik)!!!!!

With a ribbon almost as big as she is, Rachel and Dash just earned her Bronze AAC Master Jumpers Title!!!

She ran the course in 26.2 seconds in the rain on cold and windy day….She was amazing!!!

In order to qualify for Bronze, you need 10 Q’s.

I hear a rumor that they have their eye on their  ATChC Master Title in the coming month or so.  Best of luck – you guys continue to amaze me.  So proud!!! CONGRATULATIONS Rachel and Dash-a-roooooo!!!!!

Our spring field trial season continues to be successful!!!  This time it is Maddy who WINS her AGD stake for 2 more points towards her AFC.  Maddy ran beautifully on grounds she had never seen before.  She has really come into her own at almost 9 years young!  Honarble mention – Maddy also placed 2nd in the OLGD statke.  Both stakes were retrieving.  Way to go MADS!!!

Once AGAIN – CONGRATULATIONS to my Kelsey (Maddy-Cutter) who WINS the Amateur Derby stake for 2 points!  She put down a nice run and had fun with a lot of bird work. An ending to a very nice weekend with wonderful people and dogs .  SO PROUD of her!!!  Way to go Kelsey!!!

Once AGAIN – CONGRATULATIONS to my Kelsey (Maddy-Cutter) who WINS the Open Puppy stake!  She really ran like a mature gun dog today.  SO PROUD of her!!!  Way to go Kelsey!!!

Eastern GSP Field Trial

1st time handling at a Medford NJ Field Trial and we had a blast! Meeting great new people (and seeing those that I don’t get to see often) at a wonderfully run event. So VERY proud of Kelsey (Maddy-Cutter) who took a 3rd in the very competitive 16 dog Amateur Derby, placing behind 2 very nice shorthairs.  Maddy had a beautiful run in ALGD (despite a slight indiscretion in the bird field) and placed 4th. Proud of the girls!!!

Paws Plus Training Nosework Trial

CONGRATULATIONS to Susan and Sarika (Lexi-Bud) for her first nosework title – she not only achieved her NW1 title, but did so by earning the highest score of the day (over 40 competitors) with the fastest time. She did her 4 searches with the judge’s comments:  Vehicle: Amazing change of behavior. Exterior: What a great search! Keep it up. Interior: Great job. Awesome team work. Professional-grade work. Container: Really nice search behavior. Super happy handler, very nice to see. Susan wanted to do field work with Sarika but didn’t have an outlet where she lives. So, she turned to nosework and is having a blast. Keep up the great work Susan and Sarika!!! You are both an inspiration with your teamwork and success in all the interesting venues you pursue!!!

GSP Club of Central Virginia Field Trial

Another wonderfully successful weekend – so proud of the girls!  Kelsey WINS the Amateur Derby stake for her first Derby point at a little over a year old!!!  She also places 3rd in each Open Puppy and Open Derby.

Maddy comes OH SO CLOSE to blues in both the Amateur and Open Retrieving stakes.  She places 2nd in each and 4th in the OLGD major stake.

Old Dominion Vizsla Club Field Trial

Maddy does it again!  Beautiful run with many “challenges” on course – Maddy takes it all in stride and gets around clean!  She is rewarded with BLUE in the OGD stake!!!  More than half way there on the Open side and half way there on Amateur side, we are getting closer to those Field Champion titles!!! 

AND, FOR A LITTLE OF EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITY…..

My head down and feeding birds in the coop, I look up and see Kelsey STANDING ON TOP OF THE bird walkout.  In disbelief, I walk out and grab my phone – pictures follow.  She was locked in on the house side of the fence.  How in the world did she get up there??? 

She climbed the fence, tiptoed on the ledge and hopped up on the wire box.  LOVE her attitude!!!

01/14/2014 – Hailey Receives an OFA EXCELLENT Hip Rating
Very PLEASED to announce that Hailey’s (Maddy-Cutter) Hip X-ray result came back from the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) and she is rated as EXCELLENT!

Hailey is the 3rd Maddy child with an excellent rating (along with 4 other children with good ratings).  Continuing the tradition of healthy hips that Maddy’s mother Lexi continued a generation ago with 2 excellent and 5 good ratings.

12/16/2013 – Cool Spring, NC
GSP Club of North Carolina Field Trial

Maddy does it again!  Wooo hooo!!!  We run in all 4 gun dog stakes and get around clean in 3!  The reward is another BLUE ribbon in the horseback ALGD stake!
Honorable mention to daugther Kelsey!  She runs her heart out with 2 beautiful finds in OD.  Still looking like a gun dog at an early age!!!

We didn’t do so bad on new grounds! So proud of both my girls!!!

12/09/2013 – Rosaryville, MD

English Setter Club of Southern Maryland Field Trial

Maddy runs her heart out for the 4th time this weekend and is rewarded with BLUE in the horseback OLGD stake! 

She also placed 4th in AGD in a 17 dog stake. 
And, 3rd in OGD, 4th in ALGD at the Diamond State GSP Trial the same weekend.  Around clean 4 for 4 with a blue – way to go MADDY – we are becoming quite the team!

You continue to amaze me!  You are running so hard – your desire stronger than ever!  Unfortunately, bad handling by your mom and unlucky circumstances kept you from getting around clean this weekend.  So proud of you, young lady!!!

Hailey (Maddy-Cutter) – you were brilliant running.  Hard charging and beautiful pattern.  After finding a cock-bird (we saw it fly over the hill our way) you continued on course.  Ringing a large field and going on point in the corner.  Sad that there had to be a small covey in there!  You stood at first, but it became too much – and off you went.  A LOT of birds!  So proud of you – you will get there!

Kelsey, you brought the ribbon home again!  Competing against the same pointer and older GSP in Open Puppy, you did a wonderful job bringing home 3rd place.  Wonderful experience, you are still just a baby.  Your time will come.  So proud of you!!!

Rachel and Dash received their Master Snooker Title in nasty weather – pouring rain and cold in an unheated horse barn!  Way to overcome the elements girls!!!

They also added another Q to their Master Jumpers count in 28 seconds!!!  The Bronze Jumpers Title is in sight – 5 Q’s down, 5 Q’s to go!!!  I have no doubt that Bronze title will be here before we know it 🙂

While Maddy came a little unglued at this trial – running like a crazy young thing, her daughter made her proud!!

Kelsey (Maddy-Cutter) was the ribbon holder of the weekend!!!  She and I ran in Amateur Walking Derby for the first time.  She ran nicely and had 3 finds.  At 10 months old, Kelsey gets a 2nd place!

She wasn’t done yet – she also got a 3rd place in Open Puppy.  Way to go Kelsey!!!

German Shorthaired Club of Central Virginia Fall Horseback Trial

Weather was miserable!  Soaking rain and wind!  But, Maddy held it together and got around clean in Amateur Gun Dog!  Birds everywhere, but Maddy held it together.  This weekend, she got a 4th place in a stake of 10.   

AND, Kelsey (Maddy-Cutter) made her field trial ribbon debut with a 3rd place in Open Puppy!

Unfortunately, since it was raining all weekend and windy, we didn’t get pictures this time.

Maddy and I ran in the Amateur Gun Dog stake.  Maddy has been a little more “carefree” with me on horseback with her manners, but she kept it all together and got 2nd place in a stake of 9!  Knocking on the door for another blue Mads!

I am incredibly honored that Amy and Gunnar are the pair that commemorate this day as Dynata’s first BISS win. You and Gunnar are an magical team. An incredible achievement – owner/handled no less – BRAVO!!!

CONGRATULATIONS to Rachel and Dash (Maddy-Erik) for winning their Best Field Class and then went on to win Select Bitch among a very competitive class of bitch Specials!!!

Not only was that impressive on Saturday, but they REPEAT their performance on Sunday, again winning their Best Field Class and Select Bitch!  But WAIT, they weren’t finished for the day – they went on to compete in Intermediate Agility and QUALIFIED!!!  Not much more they could do to compete for the Versatile Title (something we do not do here in the US).  Dash earned 27 points by her conformation and agility wins – now we wait to see what all the Sporting Dogs earn – the field events are not over yet.  What a wonderful concept for a Kennel Club!!!

With a course time of 22 seconds, Dash literally FLEW through the course earning her latest title.  WOW!!!

What a GREAT weekend!  The beautiful ribbons were all earned with Amy handling: Gunnar in Breed (Maddy-Ruger), Abbie in the Open Bitch class (Maddy-Hudson) and Gunnar’s son Bleu in the Open Dog (Gunnar-Roxi).

Gunnar took the Breed both days, Abbie went Winners Bitch & Best of Opposite Sex both days, and Maddy grandson Bleu went Reserve Winners Dog on Saturday and earned his first point by going Winners Dog  &  Best of Winners!!!!  Abbie needs two single points to finish her Championship!  Young Bleu is visiting Amy from VA and is getting used to the show scene!

Agility CONGRATULATIONS to Amy and Birdy (Maddy-Hudson)!!!  They earned their second Novice Jumpers Q!!!!

Birdy is FAST and will sometimes (ok, more than sometimes) create her own course.  It all came together for her 2nd Q!

07/01 – 07/06/2013 – Richmond, VA, West Friendship, MD
Since we entered every show we could before July 9 to try to finish Hailey’s Championship before heading to summer field camp, and ended up finishing in June, we moved up into Best of Breed for our remaining shows – for the heck of it.
 
Hailey is on a ROLL!  She picked up 8 Grand Championship points by going Select Bitch 3 times.  Two were majors where she was Selected over other pretty Specials.  1/3 of the way to your Grand Championship title, it is time to put showing on the back burner.

SO PROUD of what you have accomplished at 20 months old:
All of your Puppy and Derby points and now a Champion and 1/3 Grand Champion!

Time to go back to the field – to do what you LOVE TO DO!

The birds flying around inside the building were a blessing and a curse!  We managed to get through it all!  STILL got an eye on them in her picture – no relaxing for this photo!!

Congratulations to my Hailey (Maddy-Cutter) for going Winners Bitch & Best of Opposite Sex (over a lovely Specials bitch) from the Bred-By Class on Friday, and Winners Bitch & Best of Winners on Monday!  She was knocking on the door on Saturday with a Reserve Major win.  Way to go Hail’s!!!

It was SOOOO cold at these shows this year!  Hard to believe it was almost June!  No warm clothes to wear – both Hailey and I were both shaking before it was over on Friday!  I think Judge Indeglia agreed!  By Monday, it seemed quite tropical!

We also were able to attend two health clinics.  Hailey got her Cardio and CERF eye exams done.  All normal!!

We won the Amaetur Derby stake of 9!  She had a incredible run – I just went along for the ride! 

She now has her 2 Amateur Derby points!  And, now she has now batted for “the cycle” earning all of her juvinille points.

She won the Open Derby stake of 10!  She had a FANTASTIC run!

I am SO proud of Hailey – she had such a beautiful run!!!  At just shy of 14 months old, Hailey now has her 2 Open Puppy and 2 Open Derby points as well as her 2 Amateur Puppy points!  We may try to find an Amateur Derby stake to complete ‘the cycle’ – we’ll see!

My Hailey (Maddy-Cutter) had an AMAZING weekend at the Southern Maryland English Setter Club field trial this weekend!!!

On Saturday, she earned a blue ribbon, finishing FIRST place in an Open Puppy stake of 10 very competitive puppies!

She now has her 2 Open puppy points!

On Sunday, she did it again!  She earned a blue ribbon, finishing FIRST place in the Amateur Walking Puppy stake of 8 very competitive puppies!

She now her 2 Amateur puppy points.

I have to admit, there are a LOT of events out there that I am unaware exist!  Thanks to Susan, she continues to educate me as time goes by.  I am now catching up on all of their acheivements…

I am very PROUD to announce that Susan and Sarika (Lexi-Bud) have achieved BOTH Levels 1 and 2 of APDT Rally!!!  Not only have they achieved these first two levels, they have performed with such high scores, that they earned an Award of Excellence for both levels! 

You guys never cease to amaze me!  Continued success in this sport!!!

AND, then there is nose work!  Putting a nosy vizsla to work, intetionally using their sniffer, is amazing!  And, Sarika is very good at this too!  NACSW sponsors nose work training and titles.  I am once again PROUD to announce that Susan and Sarika passed their birch odor recognition test!  A great first step to eventually consider trialing 🙂 

Keep up the amazing work, you guys!  You are inspirational!  Wooo hooooo!!! 

Then, they entered a trial recently to practice, and they earned PERFECT scores and first places (earning bonus points) and are about half way towards their ARCH (Rally Champion) title!  Course maps below…

Maddy and I went to participate in our very first horseback field trial, at the fall Conestoga Vizsla Club trial.  We entered in the Amateur Gun Dog and Limited Amateur Gun Dog stakes – both retrieving.  I am so proud of Maddy.  She took off and did her thing without any notice to me handling her from horseback.  She has never been to these grounds.  Everthing brand new!!!

She took a SECOND placement in the Amateur Limited Gun Dog stake!!! She had two back course finds, and had two birds in the bird field.  So proud 🙂  GO MADS 🙂

An AWESOME debut for the Maddy-Cutter kids – Patton and Hailey!!! And, OH, my Jackie-O and Jack-Man!!!

3 day weekend sweeps don’t come often. At 6 months and 9 days old, Patton – and his owner Callie, made it look EASY!!! They went Winners Dog all THREE days, picking up 4 single points from the 6-9 puppy class!!! What a way to get started, you guys! CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Not to be outdone, uncle Jack (Lexi-Endre) picked up a very nice Best of Breed Win – earning a 5 point major towards his Grand Championship on Sunday, and went Select on Saturday and Monday to pick up another 3 points!

Jackie (Maddy-Erik) and I have not been in the show ring since she earned her Championship a little over a year ago. With Nationals around the corner, I thought we would enter as a Special and get in some practice. There were quite a few Specials bitches entered, we were just going to do our best – we were very rusty!

Jackie did NOT disappoint! She went Select on Saturday, earning a 3 point major over 2 other Specials. Then, on Sunday, she did it again! She earned another 4 point major over 3 Specials. Then, on Monday, she did it again – earning another point. 8 points towards your Grand Championship in one weekend. Way to go – Jackie-O!!!

How in the world was I going to hold Hailey still in the show ring? We went to drop-in handling class to practice, but that u-butt wiggle is hard for her to control! No joke!!!

We entered for show socialization and practice. We entered in the big-girl Bred-By Class, not the puppy class, so we didn’t expect much. Well, Hailey did NOT disappoint either! Saturday, she placed 2nd out of 5 with the “big girls.” Sunday, she placed 2nd out of 8 with the “big girls,” and she did it again on Monday! Honorable Mention, Hailey!!! You were a winner to me – amazing 🙂

CH Cameo’s Bound and Determined MH CD NA NAJ VC ROM – “Lexi”
What I thought would be Master Pass #5 and Lexi’s Master Hunter Title was actually Pass #1 of her Master Hunter ADVANCED Title!!! It was a warm 75 degrees and you got to run twice – your 3rd brace and again as the bye dog in the 7th brace.

Master Hunter Advanced is a new AKC title. Same qualifications as Master Hunter, but an average score of 8 is needed rather than 7.

Lexi, you are a 9 year old ROCK STAR!!! You go girl!!!!!
On 2/26/12, we passed what I thought was Master Pass #4. Silly mommy, NO – it was PASS #5!!! Lexi was now a MASTER HUNTER – woooo hooooo!!! Such an advanced title earned in one season after a 6 year field hiatus – you ARE amazing!!!

Note to self: ALWAYS check scores EVERY single time…

Maddy and I entered Conestoga Vizsla Club’s Field Trial for fun. Maddy has taken a training back seat lately while her mother is training and running for her Master Hunter Title.

Maddy was AWESOME!! Two nice finds in the back course and a beautiful blind retrieve in the kill on course portion of the brace. She ran intelligently covering ground. SO proud, you haven’t missed a beat!!!

A very nice placement among 7 other very competitive dogs.

CH. Dynata’s Bound To Know It All MH NAJ ROM – Maddy

Maddy earned her Registry of Merit certification from the Vizsla Club of America this year. For those that do not know what this means, the VCA has a prorgram that recognizes that the future of the Vizsla rests with the sires and dams that have demonstrated their ability to provide for successive generations. In recognition of their contributions to the breed, the VCA awards the Registry of Merit Certificate (ROM) to those Vizslas whose offspring reflect the breeds character and purpose, as evidenced by the titles achieved. Once a minimum number points are earned by the offspring and submitted (VCA guidelines regulate the criteria and point schedule) to the VCA, the ROM is certified.

THANK YOU to Gunnar (Maddy-Ruger) for his GCH and MH, Max (Maddy-Erik) for his CH and SH, Luna (Maddy-Ruger) for her CH and JH, Katie (Maddy-Ruger) for her CH and JH, and Jackie (Maddy-Erik) for her CH (and her other kids that could also qualify to help!). So PROUD of her kids and especially their owners!!!

WHAT AN INCREDIBLE HUNTING WEEKEND FOR MOTHER AND SON!!!!!!!!!!

First, my Lexi strutted her stuff at almost 9 years old and qualified with amazing scores for her FIRST Master Hunter Title Leg. She had 6 finds, was steady as a rock, and had the most amazing polished gundog performance. SO PROUD of you Lexi-Lou!!!!!!!!
Then, two braces later, son Jack (Lexi-Entre) ran in Senior Hunter and also passed with amazing scores for his SECOND Senior Hunter Title Leg!!! Jack was beautiful to watch with his sylish point and intense search. CONGRATULATIONS to Andrew and Callie on Jack’s second pass in a row – you are on a roll!!!

NO, NOT DONE YET!!! THEN, Lexi ran in the Conestoga Vizsla Club’s “Now That’s a Hunting Dog’ special hunting dog stake.

She WON the stake of EIGHT!!! Lexi was as phenominal in this brace as she was in her Master run. She had 7 finds – rock steady – a nice honor – and a beautiful retrieve!!!

No Lex, you aren’t ready to retire. I don’t know that you EVER will!!! You never cease to AMAZE me. I am SO PROUD – words cannot express…

WOW have we had 2 GREAT show weekends!!!

First, I decided to dust the mothballs off Maddy’s (Lexi-Danny) show lead (3 years) to work on her Grand Championship. She goes Best of Breed on Sunday and Select on Saturday at the Virginia Kennel Club shows in Richmond. Maddy – you still got it!!!

AND

Same weekend, her son….

Sammy (Maddy-Erik) goes Winners Dog BOTH days singling out his Champion points. He needs his majors, and he is a new Champion! Congratulations Leslie, Sean and Larry!!!

…..5 days later, on Friday, Sammy goes Winners Dog and Best of Winners for his FIRST major at the Southern Maryland Kennel Club show in Bel Alton MD. That was quick Sammy! We are SO PROUD of you! One more – you are on a roll….

Not to be outdone, Maddy’s other son (and Sammy’s littermate) Max goes Winners Dog/Best of Winners and finishes his Championship in style with a FIVE point major win at the Conestoga Vizsla Club Supported Entry on Sunday!!!

Maddy had “it” from the very beginning and always will – she is one DRIVEN hunting dog. I am so proud of you Maddy Moooo!!!

It is a challenging journey, but one that is a labor of love filled with LIMITLESS reward. Maddy is a MASTER HUNTER today, and we did it all ourselves! Woooo hoooooo!!!! Thank you to those friends that helped train with us weekend after weekend after weekend!!!

Of course, her very first way to celebrate after her run, was to lower a shoulder into a nice fresh deer poop pile and rollllllll baby! She was covered dark brown head to toe and had a very nice perfume. I told her to go for it – she can do whatever she wants!!!

Celebrating the sweet success!!!

Covered in “nature” – only someone that loves you a LOT would pick you up now Maddy!

Home and a bath later, Maddy still revels in her victory with her trophy Master bird and ribbon….

and trots off to relish in the afterglow!!

In various locations in Missouri – Gunnar did it all this weekend! Amy and Gunnar started out on the show scene at the Gateway Vizsla Club Double Specialty where they took back-to-back Award of Merits!!! That was Friday. Then they were off to a Hunt Test about 3 hours away. They hunted and passed their last two legs for their Senior Hunter Title! That is the way to do it with our versatile wash and wear v’s – show one day, hunt the next! CONGRATULATIONS to Amy and Gunnar – VERY well deserved! Good luck in Master!!!! Gunnar is now the third generation SH in the Dynata family!!!!!

NOT to be forgotten – Ms. Birdy (Maddy-Huson) was along for the ride to Missouri!! She also had a fantastic show beginning – going Best of Opposite in Sweeps, and then going on to win Reserve Winners Bitch (4 point major)!!! The same versatile wash and wear gal was rearing to go at the Hunt Test, earning the first 2 legs of her Junior Hunter Title with ease. Way to go Amy and Birdy!!! The future is so bright for you guys – we are SO proud of you!!!

A WONDERFUL weekend for TWO of the Maddy-Hudson puppies!!!

In the field:
Amy and a 7 month old Birdy take a placement in Open Derby!!!
Amy decided to enter Birdy in her first field event since she was there as Secretary anyway. Since Birdy hasn’t ever run at a field event, or had horses follow her – it would be great practice! Didn’t Birdy earn a 4th Placement out of 8 dogs?!!!! Her style won her a placement!! CONGRATULATIONS AMY AND BIRDY!!! A bright future ahead in the field for you guys!!! Birdy, the ribbon is about as big as you are!!! WOOOO HOOOO!!!

In the show ring:
Jessica and a 7 month old Whisky take a GROUP 2 at the Old Dominion All Breed Club Fun Match!
Jessica entered the match in preparation for their first real show next weekend. First they took the Breed from the 6-9 puppy class out of a large vizsla match entry of nine! They then went on to compete in a well attended Sporting Group of 9 or so breeds. It was down between Whisky and a Golden to win the Group – shooting it out to the end. The hairy dog took it this time, but I have no doubt that Jessica and Whisky have a chance to beat the hairy dog in the future! CONGRATULATIONS JESSICA AND WHISKY!!! And, way to go Jessica – getting in the ring and being an owner-handler!!! WOOOO HOOOO!!!

Birdy (Maddy-Hudson) makes her debut! Birdy turned 3 months old on October 14, so Amy decided to enter her in first dog show to socialize her and have some fun. Since it was a Sanctioned B Match, there was a 3-6 month old class, and what better way to go and practice for the first time – she has a whole 3 days to spare on the age class!

Amy and Birdy took the Breed since they were the only vizsla entered. The play-by-play could be described by Birdy’s new nickname – “Squiggly-Wiggly!” She had a blast getting treats and trotting around the ring like she owned the place. Her happy wiggle and u-butt never stopping!!!

Off to the Sporting Group they go! Amy and Birdy make the first cut. Amy was thrilled and Birdy was still her happy self!. They continue to play on realizing that they have really wow’d the judge!

CONGRATULATIONS on your Group 1 placement Amy and Birdy!!! Way to make your grand debut at dog shows!!! A lot more to come!!! You guys looked like PRO’s out there!

Amy and Gunnar (Maddy/Ruger) took Best of Breed #14 and continue on their roll!!! They made the final cut in Group, but lost out to the hairy dogs for the top 4 spots. Knocking on the door!!!

And it is a BIG’GUN’!!! – Amy and Gunnar (Maddy/Ruger) took Best of Breed on Friday at the Texas Gulf Coast Vizsla Club’s Supported Entry beating the #1 RANKED Vizsla in the country, as well as two other Top 10 dogs, as well as other very nice Specials. Number 13 was a lucky number today!!!

Amy and Gunnar continued their “roll” by going Best of Opposite Sex to the #1 RANKED Vizsla on Saturday, beating the same ranked and nice Specials boys on Friday.

A very special owner/handler and a pretty dog can sure go a long way!! CONGRATULATIONS Amy – you guys are truly a very special team!!!

CONGRATULATIONS to Rachel and Dash (Maddy-Erik) for going two for two at the Kawartha Kennel Club dog shows!!! Dash took Best of Winners and Best of Opposite Sex both days, earning 5 more points towards her Championship! You guys are more than half way there now! Show photo coming soon. (In their spare time after the show, they took to the field to continue training for their NAVHDA NA test coming up in August. Dash had a perfect pheasant track and took to the water like a fish – she has always loved to swim. Nice reward for being such a good show dog)!!

Jack (Lexi-Endre) and Andrew earn a near perfect score at the NAVHDA Natural Ability Test!!!!

Jack and Andrew earned 108 points (out of a perfect 112) for their Prize II award!!!! Jack was perfect in the field, and perfect in the water. It was the darn track that foiled their near perfect score!!! What an AMAZING accomplishment you guys!!! WAY TO GO!!!! WOOOO HOOOOOO!!! (picture coming soon)

Susan and Sarika (Lexi-Bud) were at it again! This time it was Rally!!! Their first time in the ring – they score a 95 and take FIRST PLACE out of 8 qualifying dogs for their first Rally Novice leg. Susan also qualified with her other vizsla and took SECOND PLACE too!!! Awesome job, Susan and crew!!!!

This weekend was “hunting weekend” for two of Lexi’s kids:

York, PA/South Hill, VA

My Maddy (Lexi-Danny) goes 2 for 2 and earns her first TWO legs of her Master Hunter Title!!!!

Maddy and I had a phenomenal weekend in the field. She had 5 finds on Saturday (one of which was stolen by her bracemate, and Maddy still held steady!) – 2 of which were in the bird field with retrieves! Sunday was much the same – 4 finds. Once again, one find was stolen by her bracemate, who then decided to leave the bird alone and sniff and lick Maddys rear-end while she was on point. What a good girl Mads – steady as a ROCK! She turned in strong performances and qualified both days. The judges were very complimentary and her scores were extraordinary. Very PROUD of my Maddy-Mae!!!

Brother Viktor (Lexi-Danny) would not be outdone in the field this weekend!
Viktor and trainer/owner/handler/daddy Pat, qualify for their FIRST leg of Master!!!!

Pat and Viktor have been performing in the field for a while. They have become such a strong team. Daddy Pat is an avid hunter, and goes out with Viktor often as a hunting companion. They have also been involved with NSTRA (National Shoot to Retrieve Association), as well as AKC Hunt Tests.

WAY TO GO!!!!!! A tremendous accomplishment – keep up the good hunting, you guys!!!

AND….

While Maddy was busy in the field this weekend, her son was busy in the show ring!!

We were mainly going to the Specialty to support the club and enjoy friends, food, and the wonderful raffle. Of course we were hoping for a ribbon, but at 20 months old, I know Gunnar isn’t as filled out as some of the older dogs and there were some good looking dogs in the ring with us!! Thankfully, the judge didn’t hold anything against us and pointed at Gunnar to receive the first Award of Merit! We had a great weekend seeing old and new friends, and coming home with a big green ribbon didn’t hurt either!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEXI-ENDRE BABIES!!!

Lexi went into labor around 4pm on December 30. She had her first puppy at 6:25pm. She spent over two hours pushing big boy #1 out! Once he paved the way, the other puppies followed much easier! The last boy took his time and came out two hours after his brothers and sister!

The puppies are big and robust! Very active and gaining weight quickly! Lexi is being a GREAT mom. A wonderful New Year for us!!!

Lucy (Maddy-Ruger) qualified for the AKC S.T.A.R. puppy program (Socialization,Training, Activity, Responsibility)! She also passed her first formal obedience class! To graduate from the class, Lucy had to complete 7 stations with verbal and/or hand signals only. The stations were classified as: Recall, Stay, Greeting Behavior, Down, Leave it, Leash Walk with stops, and a focus trick. No physical manipulation of the dog, or food in the handlers hand, were allowed. Lucy passed with flying colors and received a blue ribbon!!!

I am so proud of owner/handler Laura and Lucy!!! CONGRATULATIONS to her whole family!!! WOW guys – great job!!

The dynamic duo will train on with more obedience and a basic agility class!

Maddy earned her SENIOR HUNTER title this weekend by qualifying both days with the highest scores each day (all nines – the judges did not award any 10’s!)! She was flawless on both of her runs, winning great praise from the judges! Way to go Maddy Mae!!! Maddy will continue forward in her field training. MADDY KNOCKS IT OUT OF THE PARK at McKee-Beshers WMA at the Mason Dixon GSP Club Hunt Test. Maddy earns her FIRST leg of her Senior Hunter Title with scores of 10-10-9.5-10-9-9!!! The judges clapped for her when she finished her brace. She was one of 17 dogs competing in Senior and 1 of 3 to qualify, and had the top score of the day. The judges said she was the best dog they have seen run in a long time and that she was a joy to watch. My pride cannot be put into words. Maddy-Mae was AWESOME to handle!

Daughter Katie says “not so fast mommy!” She ran at her first hunt test and is 2 for 2 towards her Junior Hunter Title. Katie did a very nice job at her first test!! New horses to see, other dogs to run with, a new experience! She handled it all well and now is half way towards her title! GO KATIE-KATE!!!

Announcing Maddy – Ch Dynata’s Bound to Know It All JH NAJ NAVHDA NA Prize II 99 can now add GROUP PLACING to her accolades!!!

Maddy was a beauty to watch in Breed with Alessandra Folz handling, going Best of Breed over 5 other very nice Specials!! Then it was on to the Sporting Group where Maddy and handler Jamie Donaldson took a GROUP 3 PLACEMENT!! Maddy was the only non-coated dog to make the cut. She was absolutely “on” and looked beautiful. I am SO PROUD of her!! Thank you to Judge Mrs. Maxine Beam in the Breed, and Judge Mr. Giuseppe Alessandra in the Group for recognizing Maddy!! This is a day I will not soon forget!

In addition to Maddy’s good news on Saturday, Riley (Lexi-Bud) took Winners Dog for a point. Lona handled Riley herself and got right in there!!! She may be a newbie to the show ring, but her positive attitude was awesome!!

The news gets even better for Riley on Sunday!! Lona took Riley to Best of Winners earning his first MAJOR!! Lona did such an AMAZING job handling Riley. She said that she imagined Riley winning the major and he did!! AWESOME job Lona! Way to hang in there : )

Bizzy went Reserve Winners Dog to Riley on both Saturday and Sunday! Judges both days commented on what a pretty puppy he is!

We were in a class of 11 and the judge remarked afterwards that when she saw Katie, she wrote a note in her hand with her number with an exclamation point (22!) and dared anyone to beat her as she continued judging! What a wonderful thing to hear! I am SO proud of Katiedid! CONGRATULATIONS to Bill and Martha!!

What a wonderful weekend!

Mayzie, Larry and Daphne all qualify at the Mason Dixon GSP Hunt Test!
Mayzie at 6 months and 6 days old scored perfect 10’s (only one of 2 dogs all day) for her FIRST leg of her Junior Hunter title, and also qualified on Sunday for her SECOND leg with nice scores – 2 down, 2 to go!! Larry also qualified for his FIRST leg with nice scores on Saturday!! Daphne found lots of birds for her THIRD leg on Saturday as well!!! WELL DONE you guys!!!!

Remy also has good news to report going Winners Dog on Thursday and Sunday in York PA for his 7th point!

Sadie needed one last major to finish and she did it with her wonderful handler Alessandra Folz the first day of the cluster!! She went Best of Winners and earned her Championship! Congratulations to Matt and Lindsay for their new champion!! Sadie will soon be known as Ch. Dynata’s Bound for Adventure RN! (picture coming soon).

WOW!!!! Sydney takes Best of Breed 4 out of 5 days over 2 weekends!!! A big thanks to Judges Patricia Trotter and Jesse Pfeiffer for awarding Sydney Best of Breed amongst very tough competition of nationally ranked vizslas this past weekend!! Since Sydney came into season, mom Shona decided to test Syd out as a show Special for a few weeks since she cannot continue to field train during this time. CONGRATULATIONS to Syd and her family for allowing Syd to be a TRULY versatile vizsla!! Syd heads back to the field to work on her Master Hunter Title shortly. Look for Syd in a show ring again soon! (pictures coming soon…)

Daphne WINS her 12 – 18 month class at Nationals! Daphne looked BEAUTIFUL for her National debut!! The judge commented that Daphne was a very pretty bitch with beautiful neck into shoulder, angles and type. Daphne also won a 4th placement in Sweepstakes. GO DAPHNE!!! (pictures coming soon…)

Lexi has a CLEAN RUN and a fast time to earn her 2nd leg of Open JWW and a 1st place at Nationals! Lexi is pictured here “kissing up” to the judge! She did a GREAT job and I am very proud of her!

Nouli had two FANTASTIC runs!! He was so fast that he threw me for a loop! I pushed him off of one jump in Standard and pulled him off of a jump in Jumper! Mom is to blame for not Q’ing on both sides. He was AMAZING!

What more can I say about how amazed I am at the maturity level of Remy performing in Senior as such a young dog? Well, I CAN SAY!! Major congrats AGAIN to Mike and Elaine for all of their hard work in training Remy to be such an awesome hunting dog! It is with great HONOR that I announce that Remy passed his first leg on his Senior Hunter Title at 13 months young! Team Poulin not only had a fantastic run, but did so with weather that was not for the faint of heart. Temps were high along with humidity that made conditions absolutely miserable. Not a problem for Remy! He had beautiful scores and a back that was high style! As dad Mike put it ” his honor was so staunch you could lay a 2×4 from head to tail it and would be perfectly level” What an awesome run!

CONGRATULATIONS to Remy – Mike, Elaine and Cody!!! Lexi is SO PROUD (I am sure that daddy Bud is too!). What a wonderful accomplishment!!!

HOW EXCITING!!!! Sydney runs in her first Hunt Tests in Senior and passes BOTH days!!!! I am so very proud of Syd – not quite 2 years old – yet performing beautifully as a broke gun dog! GO SYD!!!! She joins brother Viktor who already has a pass in Senior as well!! I am a very proud grandma indeed!!!

Star did it! This time she is BLAZING fast in Novice Agility Jumpers. She qualified with a perfect score of 100 and a super fast time of 33:86 on a course with a standard time of 52 seconds! Out of 4 entrants in her jump height, she was the only one to qualify, taking first place and getting her NAJ title. Way to go Star!

Sydney went Winners Bitch/Best of Winners at the Maryland Sporting Dog Association Limited Breed show for a 4 point major to finish her championship today (despite her owner/handler being 9 MONTHS pregnant due to pop any day)!! HONORABLE MENTION: Daphne (Dynata’s Bound for the Birds) and her owner/handler Jessica entered their first shows with us this weekend. It is the first weekend of agility for Lexi and Maddy as they attempt Novice Standard and Jumpers. Nouli also runs in hopes of earning his AX and AXJ titles.

Lexi scores BIG qualifying 3 out of her 4 runs, with TWO first placements and a second place. I am SO very proud of her. Way to GO Lexi!!!

CONGRATULATIONS to Sydney and Shona for winning their second big major in as many weekends!! Nouli qualifies for his FIRST LEG of Excellent Jumpers with Weaves!! He had a Clean Run and second place – GO NOULI!!! We came so close the other attempts! Nouli thought his name was “MULEY” on Sunday because he would NOT down on the table. Otherwise we would have qualified. What a nice run otherwise! A couple of other very minor things kept us from Q’s the other two runs. Bottom line, I am VERY proud of my “MULEY” this weekend!

Maddy is 4 for 4 and earns her Junior Hunter Title! Maddy had a wonderful time this weekend in York PA hunting and pointing a LOT of birds! I am VERY proud of her – she did an awesome job – GO MADDY!

Mama Lexi tried her nose at Senior as well. Lexi has an intensity and drive for birds no doubt! She thinks that I am CRAZY telling her to move on when she is on point in the backfield. When I release her and tell her to move on, she takes a couple of steps with me and then insists she has to go and point that bird again. SO, we have a little work to do since AKC rules require moving on after a point in the backfield. The good news is that she is hunting harder than I have ever seen her hunt before and she is awesome at finding birds, pointing, being steady and retrieving! She had quite the fan club in York rooting for her! She does have a lot of spirit and caught the eyes of many who watched!!

Matt and Sadie complete their INTERMEDIATE Obedience Class! Now that Basic and Intermediate have been passed with excellence, Matt and Sadie are moving onto the Advanced class beginning the end of April. WAY TO GO MATT AND SADIE!!!

Star wants everyone to know that she has completed her first 8 week agility class with flying colors (pun intended)! She is much faster than her handler (mom) and soars over obstacles. She is now taking a Canine Good Citizen class and has already received compliments from the instructor on how well she is doing despite only being 8.5 mos. old! GO ELISE AND STAR!!

Maddy wins BEST PUPPY in Sweeps! Maddy did a wonderful job showing to judge Mrs. Pamela Shaw George to beat 26 other puppies 6 – 12 months old. Maddy first had to win her Puppy Class of 13, and then went on to win Best Puppy in Sweeps!
Viktor places 2nd in the regular 6-9 Puppy Class
Maddy places 4th in the regular Bred-By Class.
Lexi places 2nd in the Brood Bitch Class among 4 other moms! Lexi went in the ring with Maddy and Viktor.

Maddy competes in her first dog shows in New Jersey (02/04 and 02/05 – Boardwalk Kennel Club) and WINS ON SUNDAY bringing home 2 points from the Bred-By Class!! Maddy also took a Sporting group placement at the Fun Match the night before. Maddy’s winning picture to follow as soon as I receive it from the photographer.

Viktor is introduced to the show ring as well and wins Reserve Winner’s Dog on Saturday! He did very well at his first shows!

Successful weekend for Nouli once again! “His Nouliness” takes Hampton VA on by storm qualifying three times earning
his OAJ Title and two 1st placements as well as a 2nd placement.

BRAGS! Nouli is nationally ranked #4 among vizslas in agility in his class!! Results through August of 2005.
Nouli has had four additional 1st placements and 2 second placements since then. For something that we have been doing
for fun, this is a wonderful reward! NOULI, KEEP ON FLYING! I am SO PROUD of his accomplishment – go Nouli!!
